How do I know if my project is the right fit? ↓What a UX audit actually is
You can’t improve what you don’t understand.
A UX audit is a structured review of how an experience works today, where people are likely to struggle, and what is getting in the way of better outcomes.
It is not just a visual critique. It looks at journeys, interaction patterns, content, hierarchy, forms, navigation and decision points to identify where usability issues are creating friction.
The goal is to give you a clear view of what matters most, what can be improved quickly, and what needs deeper attention before more time or budget is committed.
Common problems
Users abandon important journeys
Navigation, forms or unnecessary friction prevent people completing key tasks.
Teams disagree on what to fix
Independent recommendations replace assumptions with evidence.
Products have evolved over time
Small changes have gradually created a confusing experience.
Redesigns aren’t delivering results
Understand why improvements haven’t had the expected impact before investing further.
Why work with me
A good UX audit doesn’t overwhelm you with dozens of observations. It helps you understand which issues genuinely matter and why.
My approach combines user-centred design, behavioural insight and practical product experience to identify the problems that create the greatest impact on users and the business. Every recommendation is prioritised, evidence-based and designed to help your team make better decisions rather than simply producing another report.
The result is a clearer understanding of where to focus next and the confidence to move forward.

Frequently Asked Questions
What size website or product is this designed for?
Every UX Audit is designed around the parts of your product that will have the greatest impact on users and the business, rather than reviewing every screen equally. Typical examples include: • A marketing website with several key user journeys. • An ecommerce website focusing on product discovery, product pages and checkout. • A SaaS product covering onboarding and core workflows. • An internal business application used to complete critical tasks. Larger or more complex projects are usually better suited to a bespoke engagement.
How is a UX audit different from usability testing?
A UX audit is an expert review carried out by an experienced UX consultant. Usability testing involves observing real users completing tasks to understand where they struggle. A UX audit identifies likely usability issues using established UX principles, while usability testing validates those findings with real users.
Will I receive recommendations or just a list of problems?
Every UX Audit concludes with prioritised recommendations, not just observations. You’ll understand what the issues are, why they matter and where improvements should be prioritised first.
Do I need access to analytics or previous research?
No, but it helps. Where existing analytics or research are available they’ll be reviewed alongside the audit findings, providing additional context and strengthening the recommendations.
Where are you based?
I’m based in Manchester, UK and work with organisations across the UK, Europe and internationally. Most projects are delivered remotely, although I’m happy to travel for workshops, stakeholder sessions and key project milestones where required.
Do you work remotely?
Yes. Most projects are delivered remotely using Microsoft Teams, Google Meet or Zoom. Working remotely allows me to support organisations across the UK and internationally while remaining flexible and cost-effective.
Will I work directly with you?
Yes. Every project is delivered by me. If additional specialist support is ever needed, I’ll discuss it with you first, but you’ll always work directly with me throughout the project.
Can you work alongside our existing team?
Absolutely. Many clients already have designers, researchers, developers or product managers in place. I can provide additional capacity, independent advice or senior support without disrupting the way your team already works.
Do you only work with large organisations?
No. I’ve worked with startups, SMEs, agencies, charities, public sector organisations and global enterprises. Every engagement is tailored to the size, complexity and goals of the organisation.
What if my project doesn’t fit one of your fixed engagements?
The fixed engagements are designed around the most common types of engagement. If your project requires something different, I’ll create a bespoke proposal based on your goals, timescales and scope.
How quickly can you start?
Availability varies throughout the year, but many fixed engagements can begin within one to two weeks. If you have an urgent requirement, let me know and I’ll always do my best to accommodate it.
Do you sign NDAs and work with confidential information?
Yes. Much of my work has involved commercially sensitive products, government services and confidential research. I’m happy to sign NDAs and regularly work with organisations where confidentiality is essential.
